A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,t
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
PSALM 23, definitely one of my favorites!!! This is a psalm of courage... read verse 4... Dave is saying, that no matter how much darkness is in this world, no matter how much pain he goes through, he will not fear, because the Lord is with him to protect him. If only we didn't have fears... I'm glad Dave had courage, but I certainly don't. I have realized after reading Dave's psalms... that most of them are about trust. To have courage like he does in this Psalm, we must trust God. I know I am lacking in trust. I know God can protect me, but sometimes I worry that He won't. God loves me though, I should definitely trust Him. I guess it is something to pray about and work on. Thankfully God is forgiving, and after death, we will spend an eternity without fear!
God bless, and may you fear not, for He is with you!
Love, -E- xx
